Discover Your Treasure

“And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit,] so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people)” 

–Ephesians 1:18

We Christians have everything we need in our spirit. For us to use the treasures that God gave us, we should experience the (edo) knowledge, the awareness of our God-given treasure by the Holy Spirit.

Assume you won a ten million dollar lottery prize, from the moment you become aware of the news you will be extremely happy even before you start using the money. More than material possessions, God has given us countless heavenly blessings because we are in Christ; as the Bible says in Ephesians 1:3, “Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ:”. But until the Holy Spirit enlightens us and gives us awareness of who we are and what we have in Christ, there will be no tangible difference between us and the unbelievers. When we go to heaven and discover the blessings we have in Christ, we will regret that we didn’t use it here on earth.

If you are in Christ, you have everything you need in life. All you need is an awareness of God’s knowledge (edo) in your spirit.  Ask God to enlighten your inner eyes to be aware of who you are and what you have in him.
