Success
"He holds success in store for the upright…”
Proverbs 2:7
God never counts success by the amount of materials we have, Jesus said in Luke 12:15 “…Life is not measured by how much you own.” God will not define our success by the amount of knowledge we acquire; 1 Corinthians 1:20 says, “Where [is] the wise… has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?”Beauty is not in the list of success as Proverbs 31:30 speaks, “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting…” Fame is not counted as success in God’s perspective too, Mark 8:36 says, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and loses his own soul.” So what is success in God’s sight?
God has created us for a unique purpose and carrying out that specific purpose makes us successful. For example, assume that God has created you to be a guard but you end up being a prime minister; you are still unsuccessful person in God’s sight. If success was all about material collection, Apostle Paul would have been one of the most unsuccessful people. Acts 9:15 says, “…for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:” After Jesus revealed to him his purpose in the above verse, he carried out his purpose and end up being one of the most successful people in the eyes of God.
Do you want to be successful? Define your success the way God defines your success. Live the purpose He has assigned for you and compare yourself with the best version of yourself.
