A Secret to Know God

“Brothers and sisters, I don’t consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,”

~Philippians 3:13

Many think the knowledge they have about God is enough, it’s a proof that they only have information about Him; because a person who truly knows God has the attitude that he/she doesn’t know enough and strives to know God more.

Paul was a Pharisee prior to his salvation; he was a respected and highly esteemed religious man, but when the light of God (photizo) shined on his spirit after his encounter at the road of Damascus, he knew that the knowledge he had about God was not a true knowledge and even dared to call it garbage in Philippians 3:8, “But more than that, I count everything as loss compared to the priceless privilege and supreme advantage of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord [and of growing more deeply and thoroughly acquainted with Him-a joy unequaled]. For His sake I have lost everything and I consider it all garbage, so that I may gain Christ,” –AMP. Even after he acquired countless revelations from the Spirit, he still decided to move forward to take hold of the knowledge he hasn’t yet discovered about Christ!

You cannot know God until the Holy Spirit reveals him to you. If you have a true enlightenment about God by the Holy Spirit, you will find yourself hungering for more. The more you know him, you will understand that there is much you don’t know about him and this will stir hunger within you to know him even more.

Meditate the Word

“[I always pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son].” Ephesians 1:17 (AMP)
