The Mind of Christ

“For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace.”

Romans 8:6 KJV

Since the day we were born our minds have never stopped thinking. But it is our responsibility to control it because a man who controls his mind controls his life. And for us to control our mind, God has given us his word and Spirit.

The Bible tells us here that our thoughts have consequences, either good or bad. The mindset we have can be a carnal or a spiritual mindset. Carnal mindset is a mindset that is against God’s law and gives us eternal death as a result. But spiritual mindset will give us inner peace and a life with God and for that to come we need to refine our thoughts by the truth of God’s word. Because when we think the word of God, Christ is thinking in us. As it says in 1st Corinthians 2:16 “…But we have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes].” To choose the right mindset is to be wise.

So what will you choose? What will be your mindset to change your life? You can have the mindset that gives you a temporary pleasure but gives you a life separated from God for the rest of eternity or you can choose a life which is full of peace and life of God. If your choice is the latter, fill your mind with the word of God by meditating on it day and night. Then you will let the mind of Christ operate in you which will give you the life He promised for you.

Meditate the word

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful.” ~Joshua 1:8 AMP.
