The Living Water

“Now on the last and most important day of the feast, Jesus stood and called out [in a loud voice], ‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink!”

John 7:37

No one can satisfy the soul except for the one who made it. To understand this, think of the time you were so thirsty, you don’t want any other drink no matter how good and expensive but water because it is the only thing that can quench your thirst and satisfy you. Likewise, every human soul has a void that can only be filled by God; no other means of satisfaction will work until that soul encounters The Living Water, The Holy Spirit.

Calling out for thirsty people in the middle of festival sounds insane; because everyone is surrounded by a variety of foods and drinks! But Jesus was looking for unsatisfied soul, so that he can give that soul the Living Water and a true satisfaction as he said to the Samaritan woman at the Gospel of John 4:13-14, “Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again, But the water that I gave him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.” Amen!

Have you been trying to fill the void in your soul by money, friends, family, fame, power or any other worldly things? Well, that won’t work because your soul is wired only to be satisfied by God and He has given you the Living Water to satisfy your soul eternally!
